Why is the Humane Society charging $457 for a mixed breed dog?

This is insane! It is Christmas, if they sold these dogs for $100 each so many more would find homes...there should be no dogs left over in these kennels at Christmas...very sad to see this...He is worth it though... looks just like Wishbone! :) XOXO
