had. All the top trainers were on the list with many drug violations - what was not on the list was the frequency of arrests for those violations or any jail time served for it, it seemed actually charging or punishing these crooks was nonexistent. How may owner's of the horses rescued by Dina Albarano of ICareIHelp who bailed over 150 thoroughbreds, many with their racing shoes still on, from kill pens many in Louisiana. NONE. Not ONE of the owners who sold their former racehorses to the "meat man" to be brutally slaughtered in Louisiana faced ANY criminal charges or racing penalties from the racetracks.
So what makes these cases different? Is it the fact they were both winners of the Saudi or Dubai World Cups? Now the Kentucky Derby had a major scandal with "Maximum Security" and the Stewards ruling it incomplete, I believe Preakness had a rider less horse, Breeder's Cup had a fatality with "Mongolian Groom", a supposed drug free race in Florida was won by a long shot by Bob Baffert (Gulfstream's Pegasus) and now the Dubai and Saudi Cup winners appear to have failed their drug tests too, just like Justify did after winning the Triple Crown.
Am I missing something somewhere? Shouldn't there be hundreds more owners facing criminal charges or are the horse owners above the law? What is really going on? Is this REALLY about oil or bringing the Saudi and Dubai World Cup down to the level the American races are all at this year? XOXO
