Former jockey to "Omaha Beach" (formerly owned by NTWO Fox Hill Farms - Victoria Keith/Rick Porter)

Mike Smith is fined $200,000 in Saudi World Cup for excessive whipping of his horse! Irad Ortiz Jr. was also suspended and fined at the Saudi World Cup for the same offense. Shocking to see Saudi Arabia is doing more to prevent animal cruelty to it's horses, then U.S. racing (or Canadian owned Santa Anita, Pimlico and Gulfstream Park) are doing. It is great to see the rules being enforced and taken seriously, evidently all the jockeys received a notice and reminder prior to the race of the rules on whipping the horses.

Update: This originally said Dubai World Cup it is actually the Saudi World Cup. Two different races with two different prizes, the Saudi World Cup has a $20 million prize and the Dubai cup which takes place a few weeks later has a $12 million prize. It has been edited to reflect these corrections. My bad. XOXO
